The time has come for the town to enforce a \"no tresspassing/ no loytering/ etc. \" policy on the Bank Village bridge. There are homes there now that are being effected by the gang activity, and it is creating a danger not only for traffic at times, but for the people who are taunted and harrassed by the hoodlums who \"hang\" on the bridge with nothing better to do - night and day. One side of the bridge is posted on both sides of the bridge- and technically that person owns to the center of the river. If pushed in court- he could have it enforced that no drops a fishing line in the river even. The \"children\" who are hanging out at the bridge are disrespectful, use foul language, and are aggessive and violent.
The town can be held responsible for anything that happens on that bridge if they allow people to conglomerate there....and socialize... like it\'s some sort of \"meeting place\". The fact is, the bridge is narrow, and it\'s just plain threatening to residence to have to pass by punk teenagers who act like gangsters. (SPONSOR 07/18/09 9:10pm) REPLY
This is a great comment. Great segue! I am currently in the process of digitizing some of my Dad\'s old VHS tapes (that he made from his old original 8mm films taken in the late 30s). There is content of him and friends swimming at Bank Village. (I figured out it was in New Ipswich!) My Dad was Daniel J. Phillips (deceased 1992) from Fitchburg, MA. Film clips were taken at \"the bridge\" at Bank Village - River Rd and Old Country Rd. in 1938-39 when he was a 23 year old. Friends - Johnny Phillips (brother) Bill Currier, Martha Rackliffe, Bobby Howard, Eddie Howard, Ham (?) Howard, Betty Deacks, Ellie Samson, others called themselves the SVAC - Souhegan Valley Athletic Association. !!! Anyone reading this know these people (or family), and have interest in films at the bridge....with \"this gang\" swimming and diving there? BTW, I am sorry you have gang problems there these days...probably the residnets inthe 30s thought the same of my Dad and his friends! :-)

Level with me now man, you are the owner of that property because everyone knows that\'s the only person who calls the cops. Anyways I\'m glad you lay claim on owning a river but seriously there\'s probably more important things to worry about than the fact that you somehow own a river but not the bridge over it.
